Print on demand (POD) is a retail fulfillment method where products, such as apparel, accessories, and home decor are produced only after an order is received from a customer. POD allows for individual items to be printed and shipped on demand, eliminating the need for inventory storage and minimizing upfront costs for merchants.
How much can you expect to earn from print on demand?
A print on demand business can earn anywhere from a few $100 per month on the low end, upwards of $5000+ per month on the high end.
How Print On Demand Works
Merchants design products, such as T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, posters, phone cases, and other items, using graphic design software or online design tools. These designs are then uploaded to a POD platform.
Merchants then create product listings on their online store, featuring images, descriptions, and pricing for the POD items. Customers browse the store, select products, and place orders.
When a customer places an order for a POD product, the order details are automatically transmitted to the POD service provider. The provider then prints the design onto the selected product using digital printing technology.
The POD provider produces the custom printed item according to the specifications of the order, such as size, color, and design. Once printed, the product is packaged and shipped directly to the customer’s address.
The POD provider handles shipping logistics, including carrier, package tracking, and delivery, ensuring that the product reaches the customer within the specified time.
